This position will be responsible for managing the overall maintenance and calibration program for HeartWare's manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include the registration, calibration and maintenance of the plant instrumentation in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices, policies and procedures. The individual will be responsible for revieweing, approval, processing, and administration of all preventive maintence (PM) and calibration schedules and resources coordination. He/ She will be responsible for mantaining the PM and calibration systems, generate and input PMs, calibration, and work orders into the maintenance and calibration computer software. The position will also have overall responsibility for managing all contractor activities, including obtaining quotes, scheduling work, and directing work to reduce downtime. He/She will be responsible for mantaining all plant equipment in optimum conditions and to ensure tools and test equipment are properly identified, calibrated, and repaired, according to the facility Standard Operating Procedures. The individual will evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities, including identifying maintenance trends, and reccomending improvments and modifications to equipment. He /She will have reponsibility for mananging the Computerized Maintenance and Calibration System.
'The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor degree in Science in Engineering and have calibration certifications, 4 + years experience, good understanding of calibration principles and experience specifying, installing, operating and calibration of a variety of instruments. The ideal candidate must be hands-on and be highly service oriented, must work as a team player and mantain good employee relations, excellent communications skills and good understanding of cGMP. A detailed knowledge of industry standards ( NIST, ISPE) calibration requirements for medical industry, utilities and production equipment and instruments is a required. MS office and excel proficency is required and knowledge on Gagetrack calibration system is preferred. Candidate must be able to stand /sit/ walk for minimun of 8 hours a day and must be able to lift 25 pounds with or without mechanical asistance.
