SEEKING SENIOR BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHINCIAN (BMET I or II). This position is responsible for administering the daily operations of a specific biomedical shop and providing repair, calibration, and maintenance services of biomedical equipment to provide the serviced entity with properly functioning equipment necessary to complete its charge of being a health care provider. Under minimal supervision, leads the work of department biomedical engineering technicians. Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Provides a personal example of living the principles of continuous quality improvement whereby decision making is driven by data, and customer-supplier relationships are facilitated both within and outside the health care system. Repair and maintain medical equipment within a specific location serviced by Clinical Engineering Services. With the Supervisor, Clinical Engineering, serve as contact point for the entity personnel with a specific location serviced by Clinical Engineering Services. Maintains equipment repair records of medical equipment within a specific location serviced by Clinical Engineering Services. Provide technical support and assistance to Clinical Engineering Services technicians. Maintain repair parts inventory within a specific location serviced by Clinical Engineering Services. Provide input to the Supervisor, Clinical Engineering regarding new service opportunities within a specific location serviced. Supervise department in supervisors absence. Rotate on call responsibilities according to department schedule. MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF: An Associates degree in a related field form either a college/university, technical school or military institution. (Bachelors preferred). Certification as BMET (CBET) preferred. MUST HAVE 2 to 8 years of relevant experience as BMET or field service specialist. Working Conditions:
Working environment is free of hazards and unpleasant conditions. Work requires minimal physical exertion. Lifts and carries medical equipment.
